Mitch is home!

I forgot to post that Mitch the Mazda is back home. He's not totally fixed yet, however. The inner panel that was scratched when the glass fell needs to be replaced and currently, it's on backorder. Until when you ask? Well, no one knows. There isn't a date in the near future where this panel will be ready. That's hard to believe, huh!?

Luckily, the dealership did a fabulous job repainting the exterior and replacing the window. So if no one can see the damage inside and the outside looks as good as new, I'm fine with it.

I'm just happy to have Mitch home! It's great to be high on the road again.

Free Weekend?

With all of the weddings, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, couples shower and planned trips to visit friends, it's hard to find a free weekend to actually get stuff accomplished. My apartment is constantly filthy, laundry tends to pile up all too easily, the dishwasher is usually full and I have to try really hard to fit in a shower (I know, gross). Now don't get me wrong, it's so much fun to celebrate these special occasions with my closest friends, but I have to admit, a night on the couch sounds just as fun right now.

To make things a bit more complicated, the tangible things associated with weddings, i.e. money, dissapears all too quickly. And with everything going on, I feel like there is a giant hole in not only my wallet, but my savings account as well. Does anyone have any advice on how to save money? I feel like I was doing such a great job until this year. And with 5 of my close friends getting married in one year, I was hit hard all at once.

The good thing is that I enjoy giving. I love to give presents that have meaning behind them and don't regret my dwindling savings account at all. After all, it is tangible and I can always make more. But until I make "more" I give myself the right to complain every once and awhile. And I continue to remind myself that it will be my day sometime soon (hopefully) and everything will even out in the end.

Mitch the Mazda

I'm bummed. I won't get my car back until the end of this week. The State Farm adjuster took a look at it today and there is more damage than they initially thought (more than $1,500 in damage now).

I've been stuck driving a Ford Fusion (sorry if you have one)! They are so, incredibly loud. It sounds like my drive home from KC without a window.

Hopefully, I'll have Mitch* home soon. I miss him!

*Yes, I name my cars. Mitch is my 2008 Mazda Tribute. Ed was my Camry and Bing was my Bravada.

The Fab Four in KC

This past weekend I went to Kansas City for a fun weekend with the girls. Erin, Danielle, Lisa and I were best friends throughout high school and haven't really had a weekend together in years. We definitely made up for it in two days! As Lisa said, we had more drinks than hours of sleep!

Friday night, Lisa and I got to KC around 10 p.m. and had a few drinks while getting ready to go out. We went to 4 or 5 different bars around the plaza and had a great time. Too much fun, actually. I can't recall the last few hours of the night! Some pictures (if you want to see more, they are up on my facebook page)...

After an exhausting night, we were going to head to the pool on Saturday afternoon. We went down to the garage of Erin's apt. building and find out that someone broke into the garage and decided to knock out my back window and steal my work bag and Danielle and Adam's wedding present. Nice. So now I have a fun day of dealing with my busted window tomorrow - Poor Mitch the Mazda. It was a great four hour drive home...loud.

After I finished being upset about my car, we went to the pool and relaxed for awhile before going to a nice dinner. We decided to splurge on dinner and went to Bristol - has anyone been? Amazing, I highly reccomend it. Here are a few pictures from our time at the Power & Light District.

After dinner at the Power and Light District. So fun!

Getting near the end.

Arm wrestling is never out of the question.

We had an amazing time, minus my poor cars bad experience. The Fab Four needs to reunite more often! But next time, I'm not driving.

Matt

I have yet to introduce my wonderful boyfriend. Matt and I have been dating for 3 1/2 years and he is the love of my life. We have so much fun together...whether we are at the bar or watching a movie, he never ceases to amaze me with his wit and charm (which isn't always a good thing)!

Example? Well, the first time I met his family, he told them prior to my arrival that I had a peg leg. Yeah...I know! Let's just say that I received some strange looks after walking through the door and Steve, Matt's brother, even managed to tap my leg, just to make sure.

I'll share more fun stories about Matt later. Don't worry, I have plenty of stories to tell. Especially since he will be traveling for work for two weeks straight starting tomorrow.

I'm going to miss you, Red Bear!! (Again, another story for another time)

SYTYCD *UPDATE*

Update, 8:59 p.m.
I'M SO HAPPY! Congratulations, Joshua! With no training at all, you were the star of the show. And how cute are you without your braces?!

My favorite show and season has officially come to an end and I'm already looking forward to next year. If only I had kept up with dance through the years ... Ok, I still wouldn't be SYTYCD great! But a girl can dream.

The best new show to watch next? Hole in the Wall. Have you seen previews for this? It looks hilarious. Check it out: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117980832.html?categoryid=14&cs=1. It's human tetris!

Original Post: 8:30 p.m.
I'm anxiously waiting for the results of So You Think You Can Dance! I've been watching my favorite dances for the past hour and a half and I'm so ready to hear that Joshua won! I think he is AMAZING! I have been rooting for him since his booty-shakin' salsa routine...he has had my heart ever since!

** My favorite dance of the season? Well...I have two.

1) Katee and Twitch - All the People
2) Courtney and Mark - The Garden

And HOW COOL was "The Best of So You Think You Can Dance"? I miss Travis and his Sunflower dance.

Good luck, Joshua and Twitch! But more luck to Joshua, please.
