Are You Desperate?

I'm curious as to what you thought about the Desperate Housewives season premeire. I don't know how much I kept up with last season, because I was REALLY lost tonight! I can't help but think season five is going to be full of strange surprises. A few thoughts and questions...

  • Why is Carlos blind? When did this happen?

  • I totally thought Mike had died and was caught off guard when he showed up to Susan's house during the show. Was the accident last season? Or was it just a flashback from this one?

  • What is up with Edie dating a psycho?

So many questions! Help me out here.

A Day of 12-Year Old Fun!

That's right. I spent all day Saturday at Six Flags and I felt like I was 12 years old all over again. Yesterday was the most liberating and terrifying day of my life to date. It's hard to imagine ten adults (ages 25-29) riding roller coasters for five hours...but we did it! We may have not fit into the seats like we used to, we may have felt like crying through every twist and turn and we may have all left with awful headaches...but the thrill was worth it. Let's recap the best and the worst!

My all-time favorite is the Batman. I love riding with my feet hanging down! Matt, however, felt like his feet would be chopped off since he is the tallest in our group...but luckily we survived.

The scariest (literally tears were streaming down my face) is The Boss, aka the bumpiest wooden roller coaster on earth. I don't think I will ever ride this one again. This picture even terrifies me.

And finally, my liberating moment. I conquered Mr. Freeze. Not without a fight, I haven't felt so nervous to jump on a theme park ride in ages. I really felt like I was putting myself in a death trap...a forwards and backwards ride? No way. But my friends made me go...so I went, with my feet dragging and ended up LOVING every minute of it. This is my second favorite and my biggest challenge of the day. Plus, it is only 28 seconds long!

I'm still feeling shaky and disoriented today. And my stomach still hurts from the pretzel with cheese and funnel cake (wow). Obviously I am getting a little old to head to Six Flags with a group of friends for a day of "old school fun". But I'm glad I went!
If you haven't done something that has made you act like a kid again in awhile, do it, and then tell me about it!

More Home Teaser Pics

Some more pictures of the house! It's hard to imagine what it will be like with our own decorating, but the family that owned it before had GREAT taste. All of the wall colors are nice colors, so we won't have to do much painting.

Our Home Update

It's official! Matt made an offer yesterday on the most amazing house and with one counter, they accepted! We have to deal with inspections this week...but don't think we will have any trouble passing. However, until we find out we are good to go, the excitement will have to be minimal on my end.

This is obviously his purchase, but it won't be long before it becomes "Our New Home"! What do you think?! It's in the heart of Maplewood. Luckily, I'm already a resident! :-)

The Wedding Month

If you are a reader of my blog, you may be wondering where I have been for the past few weeks. Well, I've been busy watching my best friends' get married! One by one, three of my closest girlfriends walked down the aisle and said "I do" to the loves of their lives. I am so happy for each of them and wish them all the love and happiness the world can provide.

The first wedding was over Labor Day weekend and one of my oldest friends, Lauren Wieser, was married at the Jewel Box in Forest Park, followed by an awesome reception at Windows off Washington. To make this weekend even better, all of my high school friends came in town and it was so good catching up with them.

The second wedding was one of Matt's best friends, Jason Roeslein. When Matt and I started dating over 3 years ago, I became wonderful friends with everyone in the group and Lisa Weber won my heart over immediately. After 7 years of dating, Jason and Lisa tied the knot!

And finally, Danielle Tripp, one of my closest friends, got married in Kansas City this past weekend. This wedding was SO much fun! I sang in her wedding and did an inpromptu performance at the reception, which Danielle and Adam loved. My parents were invited as well, so it's always nice to get tipsy with the parents!

Phew! I'm exhausted and am totally looking forward to a free weekend, or two. Be on the lookout for more consistent posts now that the wedding trio is over. Congrats to all the newly weds!
