25 Things About Stevie

This has been going around Facebook for a couple of days now and I finally wrote my version last night. If you haven't already, I challenge you to write 25 things about yourself.

1. Some people think I am awesome. I tend to agree.
2. I have a small obsession with shoes. And by small, I mean big.
3. Burlington Coat Factory is my little secret. Well, I guess the secret is out now. But this place has discounted everything. Go. Quickly.
4. I usually let my emotions get the best of me. Yes, I am sensitive.
5. My dad is my hero. He has allowed me to see the world and has more strength and determination than anyone I know.
6. My mom is my best friend.
7. I don’t know what I would do without my sister. I laugh the hardest when I’m with her.
8. Cooper, my Goldendoodle, is my rock star. Matt and I plan to get him a brother in the Spring of 2010. Wow, I just said 2010.
9. I recently became part of a band called “The Relations” and love being on stage. You become a different person up there and it's fun.
10. My fiancee (I'm still not used to that word and rarely use it) is my other half. I can't wait to marry him this October.
11. Wedding planning is not as easy as it should be. I am hating and loving it, all at the same time. It is possible.
12. Eggplant is my new favorite color and will play a prominent role in my wedding.
13. "Proud Mary" is my song and I never pass up the opportunity to belt it out.
14. I used to love singing in the shower, but my apartment has thin walls. Enough said.
15. I tend to eat cereal for dinner. Corn chex are my weakness.
16. Lately, I would rather spend Friday nights on the couch than out on the town. Am I growing up?
17. Fantasy football is another obsession I have and I can't wait for the 2009 season.
18. I have a crush on Hines Ward. Sorry Kurt, because of said "crush", I'm rooting for Pittsburgh on Sunday.
19. I played the piano for 13 years and miss it every day.
20. I miss my friends who live far away. But having good friends nearby helps ease the ache.
21. Cowboy boots are awesome and I wear them to work all the time.
22. Captain and diet is my all-time favorite drink. Or should I say, Skinny Pirate? If that's the case, it's not working...
23. I love reality TV and shows full of unnecessary drama. Nip/Tuck especially.
24. I can write personal thoughts in no time, but anything related to writing at work can take hours. Why?
25. My hair color is constantly changing.

Your turn!

Goodbye Freezing Cold!

I'm heading to Tampa tomorrow morning where it's not hot, but it's warmer than chilly St. Louis. Wish me luck on my last FedEx event of the year! I'll catch up with you when I get home.

Things I need to fill you in on:
  • My painting experiences with Matt at the house

  • Our new ottoman!

  • More wedding details

Until then!

The closet

Matt decided to redo the small closet in our bedroom. I didn't think it would go over well, but it's well on its way! I didn't get an initial picture, but here is his work in progress...

The closet only took up a part of this space. In order to get to the end of one side, you had to crawl into it, which didn't make much sense. So Matt tore down the entire wall to create a "his" and "Hers" closet!

Day one...it looks like a fire

Day two..dry wall is up!

I'm so excited to finish the project this weekend. We need to pick out paint colors and flooring. More pictures to come soon!

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...

...unless you're me and like to share fun stories. :-)

So I went to Vegas this past week with Energizer, to promote some new products they are introducing, including a solar charger, wireless charging technologies and newer, smaller batteries. Lorie and Mer, two of my good friends were there with me for the same thing!

Our "classy" ride to the hotel after a long day of travel. But we made it!

This is the view from my hotel room at the MGM Grand - you can see the strip clearly.

Our first night out. We went to dinner at a sushi restaurant and out to a bar after...

Wednesday night was Digital Experience! Energizer had a booth and we talked to media and other attendees about our new products.
Thursday and Friday were all about work and more work. I sat in on media breifings promoting one of my new products, the Zinc Air Prismatic. This is the smallest and thinnest battery in the zinc air form. We're currently working with manufacturers, as there isn't a technology that is suited for the battery at this time. Give us a year and you'll be buying your own!

Thursday night we went out with Meredith's friends from LA. Again, we had sushi (love sushi!) and went to West Wing to sip on more Chocolate Raspberry Martini's...my new fav.

That night was my last night of fun. I ended up getting the cold bug, or whatever is going around right now. It's no fun being away from home and sick - but I was in Vegas, so pushed through. However, I am sad to say that the one night I went to bed early, Mer got a picture with Ron Jeremy! There was a porn conference in town as well (the AEC, Adult Entertainment Convention) and they had a party at our hotel on Friday night. I missed most of the Rock of Love girls, too. Frenchie was there and is supposedly even worse in person! Eeck!
Great trip, though. Productive and eventful. But I'm glad to be home.
