Not so much. But thankfully, my parents do and both mom and dad came over to spread the wealth to me and Matt over the weekend.
We have a fabulous backyard. The previous owners had three vegetable gardens, herbs on steroids (seriously, they were huge), and some of the most beautiful rose bushes you have ever seen. Knowing nothing about landscaping, gardening, etc., Matt and I felt really overwhelmed and didn't know where to start.
So lucky for us, my green-thumbed parents headed over to talk through some options. First things first, we need to be patient and wait to see what sprouts up around the yard. We can already see the buds on flowers and in the veggie gardens and are so curious as to what comes back this year. In order to save money and precious weekend time, we're going to hold off until late April and figure out what needs to be done then.
For now, however, we have some great low-maintenence annuals to choose from. Our color scheme this first year are yellows, blues and purples. Here are some great options that can hang out in the sun all day and don't require a lot of watering. I love flowers, so hopefully after this year, I'll have a green thumb myself!

Can your parents come over to our house? There is so much I want to do but I just don't know what! Maybe Mike and I will work on it next weekend!
My tulips and daffodils are starting to come up and it's so exciting! I can't wait to plant my herbs and flowers -- but I usually wait until early May.
