Work trip - again, no time to post!

I'm not going to lie - I've been a terrible blogger lately. Lauren, at least you have something precious to blame it on! I have no excuse other than that I've been busy and haven't gotten around to it, let alone downloaded any pictures from the past month.

And to delay my birthday and Memorial weekend posts even more, I'm heading to the wonderful city of Washington D.C. today for work and won't have time to post pictures until this weekend.

Nordstrom to the rescue

After a day full of shopping, I stumbled onto my wedding shoes. Now, I'll admit, they are no where near as fabulous as the shoes from my last post - but they are still perfect, thanks to Nordstrom! Purple satin, peep toe, sling back perfect.

And FYI - they look more blue in this picture. Just picture a brighter purple!

I'm In Love!

Never have I wanted a pair of shoes so badly. I have been searching for some purple satin peep toe shoes for the wedding for months. And when I find the loves of my life? I find that they come with a steep price - $354. Yeah. Too much for my little checkbook.

So the search continues at West County tomorrow.

And to end the week, Matt is taking me out for a surprise birthday dinner tonight! I'm supposed to look "fancy". Should I wear a feather in my hair? :-)

Our Dining Room

We finished our dining room a few weeks ago and I just haven't found the time to post the pictures. What do you think? There is still a lot to do...get rid of the fan, find some additional pieces for the bare wall (which can't be seen in this picture) and put new fabric seats on the chairs.

But this is our masterpiece. It's exactly what we envisioned, the color turned out perfectly and my old wall clock...well, it just fits. Right now the clock says "La Casa Di Stevie" on it. One of my old friends made it for me and I can't bare to part with it. Lauren - Do you think Mike can add Matt's name? :-)

We ended up getting rid of the vases (below). They were too much for the already dramatic room.

One of my favorite parts of the room is this little creation. Matt and I went to Garden Ridge (love that place, BTW) and instead of a fake plant, decided to make something ourselves. At first I wasn't sure of the curly willow, but it's fancy - I like it.

More Living Room Finds...

Our latest purchase for the living room. It arrives on Wednesday - so excited!

I have been busy paiting the room to get it ready for all of the new furniture.

The color is a medium khaki color and it's perfect! I'll take pictures once the room is put together.
